What Type of Bra is Most Flattering for You?

All of us ladies want to make “the girls” look the best they can pretty much all the time. Even on those days you’re just bumming around in front of your husband or significant other, you still want your bra to be cute – it doesn’t have to be patent leather sexy or anything like that. But you know what I mean, you want your bras to be flattering to your body and your breasts so that you feel good about yourself.

I’ve seen lots of women wear bras that give their breasts a cone shape, or don’t seem to support their breasts well enough. If you are large breasted, there are definitely bras you can buy that are both comfortable and offer excellent support. You don’t have to go around with no definition and a look of sagginess. There are always bras that fit the bill in both comfort and sex appeal, thanks to a lot of innovations in the world of braziers.

Take for instance the trend of yesteryear. The sixties and fifties had women wearing those God awful cone shaped bras. We all went around looking like we belonged in a Madonna circa 1990 video. They were a lot less comfortable because back then bras were all about appearance, and how they made your twins look, not about comfort as much.

Of course, this was also the time of intense popularity of things like girdles and corsets, neither of which will go down in the comfort hall of fame for women.  Now we have all sorts of flexible materials that our bras are made of. We have cotton, which is breathable, organic cotton, sports bras that allow us to work out without flying around everywhere, and we have all types of nylon hybrid fabrics also.

There are some awesome bras that combine functionality, sexiness and comfort all into one. There are convertible bras, which offer support for when you’re wearing strapless shirts and evening gowns, racer back convertibles, which offer both strapless and racerback support for when you are wearing tank tops and you don’t want your straps falling out all over the place, and there are some excellent push up bras that can still be very comfy, even with an underwire and padding.

You may want to pay more though, it’s pretty much universal law that the more expensive bras are usually both more comfy and more flattering than those cheap ones you can buy for ten bucks or under. Or – you could always find a high quality bra on clearance and just hope you got a great price break on a high quality bra!
